Conservation in a Pandemic: A New Perspective

Restoring Watersheds and Hope for Endangered Fish Populations
Blockage of streams and rivers can prevent watershed connectivity and the essential passageway of vulnerable fish populations. Our acquisition of the 27,000-acre Pleasant River Headwaters Forest in Maine created an opportunity to restore this connectivity for fish migrating in the Penobscot River Watershed—great news for native brook trout and the federally endangered Gulf of Maine population of Atlantic salmon, which depend on this watershed for their survival.
