Final Piece Protected in Colorado’s Navajo River Watershed

The Navajo River watershed is one of the wildest and most pristine landscapes we’ve protected in Colorado. Beyond its beauty, the land is a critical wildlife corridor and is the last place grizzly bears were spotted in the state. Over the last 30 years, we have conserved 65,000 acres of private ranchlands in the watershed, and the recent protection of Banded Peak Ranch was the last piece of the puzzle.

Historic Bill Enhances Conservation Opportunities Across the U.S.

One of America’s most important conservation programs, the federal Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF), is now fully and permanently funded thanks to the passage of the Great American Outdoors Act. We utilize LWCF dollars to protect our treasured natural places, enhance recreational access and strengthen local economies. While we are still celebrating this historic victory, we’re also looking ahead. We’ll need your help scaling up in order meet the growing demand for conservation that provides both economic relief and addresses the challenges of our changing climate. Learn how you can help.
